Following a report of several leaks, DPR’s team of roofers recently completed the repair of a large flat roof covering of an apartment block in Cookridge, near Leeds.
After conducting a comprehensive survey to highlight the damaged areas, the first phase of the project included stripping and disposing of all the loose felt covering.
Phase two involved fitting new full OSB decking to both apartment blocks and then ‘heat applying’ a new mineralised membrane system, using a high performance torch.
To finish off, new edgings were installed to seal the membrane system and ensure the flat roof was left fully watertight. Finally, all resultant rubble and waste was removed from site and removed by a registered waste carrier.
Given the work was completed at height, DPR erected roof edge protection scaffolding in accordance with health & safety standards and working at height regulations. DPR’s own access platform was used to transport all workers safely to the flat roof.
Commenting on the project, Darren Rickett added, “We are really pleased with how the project progressed and were fortunate to get some good weather which meant we managed to complete the job within a week. The new flat roof should last the customer around twenty years, so we are confident the leaks will cease to exist”
