Concerned about the dampness that had appeared on the chimney stack flues in their property, Mr & Mrs Gillard contacted DPR Roofing Wakefield to come and investigate the cause.
A roofer from DPR attended the property to complete a thorough roof survey and establish the cause of any water penetration. The survey revealed that the current chimney pots were in need of replacing and the chimney stack pointing and mortar were defective causing the dampness.
In order to rectify the problem DPR firstly erected access equipment to the chimney and removed the current chimney pots. They then removed the old mortar flaunching, raked out the pointing to the top section of the chimney stack and cleaned down the whole area with fresh water.
Two new terracotta clay chimney pots were fit with one gas ventilation cowl and one ventilation cowl. The roofers then reflaunched the chimney stack in quality roofing grade mortar and repointed the top section of the chimney stack back to a tooled finish. DPR completed the project by removing all resultant rubble from the site.
