DPR Roofing Wakefield was contacted by a domestic customer in Wakefield recently as they were concerned over the state of their slate roof. It was a particular concern as weather forecasts predicted a cold and wet winter with more snow, all of which can cause further damage to the roof and any belongings within the property if the roof was to leak.
Initially a roofer from DPR attended the property to carry out a comprehensive inspection of the roof and then the following recommended works were implemented.
Removal of the damaged slates which would cause leakage and replaced them with good quality second hand slates using code four lead straps and galvanised fixings. Replacement of any missing slates with quality second hand slates using code four lead straps and galvanised fixings and refixing of any dislodged slates using code four lead straps and galvanised fixings.
At the time of the works the customer requested that DPR’s roofers check out the chimney flue liners which the customer felt may have become dislodged after a recent smoke test was carried out at the property in relation with gas fire regulations.
