The team here at DPR were today happy to learn of some rather positive news.
It has been announced by the National House Building Council (NHBC) that over 40,000 new UK homes have been registered thus far this year, which represents an impressive 18% increase from the same period in 2014.
Commenting on their latest findings, NHBC’s Chief Executive, Mike Quinton, said: "Our figures show an encouraging start to 2015 with new housing registrations up 18% on the first quarter of last year. Housing growth levels remain strong across virtually every part of the UK.
“However, we have made clear that the UK is still building way below the volumes of homes that we need. NHBC looks forward to working with government to ensure that high quality new housing is a top priority.”
Looking further into the newly released data, DPR were delighted to read that many of these progressions have been made here in Yorkshire. In comparison to the 1,669 homes built in the county between January and March last year, 2015 has seen 2,223 being registered.
