Towards the end of 2014, DPR was delighted to be able to provide roofing solutions for UK known grammar schools, including Queen Elizabeth Grammar School (QEGS) in Wakefield and Ilkley Grammar School near Bradford.
Ilkley Grammar school got in touch with ourselves requesting we supply a detailed and thorough survey for much needed roofing work, similar to the types of work we have been carrying out at QEGS a few weeks before.
Working on these types of renowned buildings is a challenge which DPR is delighted to be able to survey and hopefully provide solution for. Neil Taylor, one of DPR’s highly qualified surveyors was the surveyor who went to the location and he believes that these challenges allow DPR to develop massively. Speaking after the survey was complete, he said: These large schools are a good challenge to test our well-honed skills and surveying these complex buildings takes skill to ensure the works required are in line with conservation and listed building requirements.”
Over the last year, we have carried out major roofing work at lots of different educational establishments including Wakefield College’s Pontefract campus, where the weather was so hot, this caused problems in itself.
With multiple project experience, we are forever gaining expertise in dealing with educational establishments and are now unfazed by some of the specific legislations and guidelines that must be followed. We also understand that at most times there needs to be as little disruption to the day to day running of classes (this might not be applicable if the school has scheduled work completed during holiday periods)
